The Groovy Food Company is aiming to recruit more customers for its omega-laden Cool Oil after securing a contract to supply Boots.
The oil - a cold-pressed seed oil blend of flax, hemp, pumpkin and evening primrose oils - is already available in 360 Sainsbury’s stores and contains omega 3, 6 and 9.
Company co-founder Rosie Hayward came up with the formula after discovering that seed oil provided relief from painful joints.
Retailing in Boots from the end of this month at £7.99, a 250ml bottle contains about 17 days’ supply. According to the company, it can be poured on to salads, rice or potatoes, as well as being added to smoothies and salad dressings.
