Poundland has announced it will partner Rieves Lotteries in a bid to raise £150,000 for the Breast Cancer Campaign charity over the next few months.

Rieves director Steve Lyons said a previous campaign with Poundland raised more than £300,000 for the Royal British Legion in just over six months.

Richard Lancaster, Poundland trading director, said: “Cancer is a disease that will affect the majority of us at some point in our lives. With a jackpot prize of £5,000, we are confident our customers will get behind the charity activity to show their support and raise money for this important cause,” he said.

Kiran Gupta, corporate partnerships manager at Breast Cancer Campaign, said the latest initiative would help it fund more life-saving research to make a difference to those the disease affects.

Rieves’ companies have generated more than £40m towards good causes over the past five years.
