Spar retailers will receive point of sale material to promote the campaigns

Spar UK has kicked off two new summer marketing pushes.

The campaigns went live on 13 June and will run for six weeks.

The first is a social media-based imitative that requires customers to take the Love Summer advert found on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube or Google into a Spar store in return for a scratch card.

The prizes, worth a total of £1.3m, include holiday vouchers, cash and barbecues.

The second campaign, Love Summer Days Out, rewards shoppers that spend £7.50 or more.

In return customers will be given vouchers for days out across Britain.

Spar retailers will receive point of sale material comprising counter displays, posters, wobblers, pop-up stands and boards as well as the scratch cards and vouchers.

The initiative will be supported with radio and organic digital content.

“Our Love Summer marketing campaign encourages shoppers to be spontaneous and targets key moments of their shoppers over summer,” said Michael Lawless, Spar UK brand and marketing director. “Both of these fantastic new campaigns will drive footfall and basket spend over the key summer months, building on last year’s great summer, and offering our retailers a huge opportunity to boost sales at this key time of year.”
