How to rival the phenomenon that is Snoop Dogg’s Just Eat advert? Uber Eats has wisely attempted not to play its rival at the catchy jingle game. Instead it’s gone for a more talky approach.

A delivery man enters the bleakest office imaginable, announces “Uber Eats!” and… nothing. It doesn’t massively inspire confidence in the brand, but our man begins to recite the contents of his delivery, slowly inspiring the hungry, tired office drones. Imagine Shakespeare’s Henry V enthusing about edamame beans, chicken wings and rice cakes.

The list of foods cleverly emphasises the breadth and depth of the range available through Uber Eats. And though it’s a slow burner, it provides another contrast to Snoop’s private jet-set rap. This is real world stuff, the ad suggests, for real people.
