Michael Parkinson has become the latest celebrity to do a voiceover for a Marks & Spencer TV food ad in the post-Dervla Kirwan era.
In the final weekend before Christmas, M&S is set to add to its range of promotions, which last week included half-price Champagne and four-packs of party food for the price of three. The 40-second commercial voiced by Parkinson showcases the Christmas food range and will run until 23 December.
In it, Parkinson describing his perfect Christmas lunch compared with his wife Mary's. "For me, it's got to be turkey. Specially selected, free-range, beautifully succulent. Although Mary's got her eye on roast gammon."
Parkinson's is the fifth celebrity voice to be featured by M&S in a series that began with David Jason praising M&S risotto, and recently featured Joan Collins talking about party food.
