Spar wholesaler CJ Lang has appointed Alan Brown as distribution manager.
Brown joins from Asda where he was general manager of logistics services in London, Yorkshire and Warrington during his eight years there. At CJ Lang he will report into distribution director Colin Chapman,
Brown is a chartered fellow of the Institute of Logistics and Transport, and has 35 years of distribution experience.
Previous roles include depot manager at Brakes and various logistics positions for Tennent Caledonian Brewers.
Brown will be responsible for building relationships with new and existing partners and developing the company’s distribution service.
“Alan’s broad experience in the retail logistics sector make him an ideal addition to our team,” said Chapman. “His 35 years of distribution management experience will prove invaluable as we further develop our class-leading distribution service to Spar customers across Scotland.”
On his new appointment, Brown said: “I am delighted to have the opportunity to work with the CJ Lang team as there is so much opportunity to grow and develop logistics for Spar Scotland.
