Lidl Deluxe British rump steaks with Champagne and pink peppercorn butter

These British steaks are matured for 21 days which gives them a “fuller flavour, exceptional tenderness and succulence” according to Lidl. For a romantic twist, the Champagne butter is pink and heart-shaped.

Tesco Finest heart-shaped Scotch beef burgers

Available from 500 Tesco meat counters, the retailer is switching up the traditional steak with a limited edition Valentine’s take on the beef burger. Tesco has included the 6oz burgers as part of the Valentine’s dine-in meal deal and describes them as a “far more direct” option for customers cooking a romantic dinner for two.
Choc On Choc Perfect Match Set

The handmade and personalisable matchsticks are made with white Belgian chocolate. Each box contains nine chocolate matches and, according to the brand, “are sure to add a spark to your day”. Available in Booths, Harrods, Selfridges and online.

A new premium, own-label ready-meal brand is landing in Sainsbury’s stores in time for Valentine’s day. The gourmet range includes lasagne, beef stew & dumplings, meatballs & pasta, macaroni cheese, red Thai chicken curry and fish pie, they serve two and are on an introductory offer at £6.50 until 21 March.
