Ginsters has added four new variants to its sandwich range alongside a packaging refresh to emphasise the brand’s Cornish heritage.
The new flavours comprise Chicken Fajita wrap, New York Deli sandwich, and two limited edition sandwiches: Brie, Bacon & Apricot Chutney, and Ham Hock & Spiced Chutney (rsp: £2.99).
New York Deli originally launched in April 2015 and was available for 12 weeks, but Ginsters has brought it back as a permanent selection due to its popularity.
Available from 7 September, the refreshed packaging features colour coding for consumers to easily identify fillings, photography of Cornish landscapes, and a larger pack window to showcase the product.
“This is quite a bold package change,” said Jo Hartop, head of corporate and trade communications at Ginsters. “We really want to achieve a greater standout on pack and drive greater sales out of it for the retailer.”
Mike Smith, head of brand marketing, added: “Sandwiches are by far the biggest product category within the food to go sector, which is currently worth £20.2bn and has been in consistent growth since 2008. We are very excited about this relaunch as the consumer feedback has been absolutely fantastic. Our new range really showcases the fresh tasting quality ingredients associated with the Ginsters brand.”
