Definition Chablis Majestic

Majestic Wine is launching its first set of own-label wines - the first time the retailer has sourced wine wholly itself.

The 12-strong Definition range aims to showcase some of the world’s great wine styles. Six of the bottles are available now: Chablis (rsp: £15.99), Chardonnay (France, £12.99), Pinot Grigio (Italy, £9.99), Sancerre (£17.99), Rosé (France, £12.99) and Côtes du Rhône (£11.99).

A further six will launch on 1 October: Sauvignon Blanc (NZ, £11.99), Claret (£12.99), Pinot Noir (NZ, £15.99), Rioja Reserva (£12.99), Malbec (Argentina, £11.99), and Prosecco Brut NV (£12.99). All 12 are 25% cheaper when two bottles are purchased.

Majestic said that in creating the range, its buyers were tasked with finding the wine that best represented the definitive qualities of each style. As a result, it said that once an allocation is sold, the next wine may come from a different source.

“The Definition range showcases what we consider to be the most important wine styles in the world,” said Majestic buying director Justin Apthorp. “Each wine represents the definitive style of its region and they’re produced by some of the world’s leading winemakers.

“Definition is a great way to get chatting about wine with our customers and it’s an easy way to explore wine-making areas and grape varieties.”
