Allied Bakeries is axing 380 jobs across two of its bakeries in East Anglia as part of a long-term restructuring programme. The Lytham and Ipswich bakeries will close in July and September, with all production ceasing after Easter next year. Production and distribution director Pat Lally said increased production capacity at Allied's other bakeries meant the long term future of the Lytham and Ipswich plants needed to be addressed. But he said 60 new jobs would be created at one of Allied's other bakeries in the area. {{NEWS }}
