Alpro has moved into meal drinks with ‘Meal to Go’ (rsp: £3.50/500ml), a plant‑based, nutritionally balanced drink now available on Amazon ahead of a wider grocery rollout in May.
Best served chilled, the ready-to-drink range debuts in Chocolate & Banana and Vanilla flavours. Each bottle delivers 20g plant protein, 26 vitamins and minerals, fibre, omega‑3 and no artificial sweeteners, positioned for breakfast, lunch or in‑between occasions.
Alpro said the meal drink answered rising demand for healthier on‑the‑go choices, with health now the second biggest purchase driver in plant‑based, and came as food‑to‑go accounted for 23.6% of eating‑out spend.
Launch support includes a partnership with singer‑songwriter Zara Larsson to showcase the product’s fit with busy lifestyles.

“People are eating differently today,” said Tom Kerr, head of category management and commercial planning – plant-based, Danone UK and Ireland. “Busy lives mean more of us want meals we can enjoy on the move, without compromising on taste and nutritional value. We have designed Alpro Meal to Go for exactly that – a convenient and delicious drink that still delivers on both.
“This investment in our portfolio demonstrates our unwavering confidence in the future of the plant-based category as flexitarian lifestyles continue to evolve,” he added.
“It is another strong step in our commitment to offering delicious, nutritious options to consumers who are choosing plant-based, not just out of necessity, but because they actively value variety, flexibility and balanced nutrition.”
The move extends a run of innovation, following Alpro Kids and a limited‑edition Cinnamon Roll barista drink, and comes after Danone North Europe’s multimillion‑pound investment in March 2025 to source 100% British oats for Alpro’s core and No Sugar oat drinks.
