Asda staff is to receive a £13.7m bonus as part of the retail giants benefits scheme.
This Friday 100,000 employees will pocket the bonuses of up to £300 each as part of the Asda Wal-Mart colleague bonus scheme which was introduced in 2000 - and has already paid out a total of £34.4m.
Asda’s people director David Smith said: “It’s our people that make the difference and we have always believed that they should share in the success of the business.
“Without being part of Wal-Mart we would probably not have been able to start a Colleague Bonus Scheme.”
