Asian condiment brand Mei Mei Goods has secured its first grocery listing with Ocado, just months after launching in November.

The challenger brand, which was co-founded by Michelin-starred chef Elizabeth Haigh and former Google head of retail Renée St John, offers six chef-crafted sauces made with natural ingredients and avocado oil (rsp: from £3).

Inspired by Haigh’s Borough Market restaurant Mei Mei, the brand aims to bring “bold, premium Asian flavours” to everyday cooks.

Its offering is divided into three ranges – Base, Heat and Topper – that are based on Haigh’s ‘three-step flavour system’, designed to “simplify” Asian cooking at home.

The Base range includes a Sweet Soy Sauce (210g), a sticky and versatile south east Asian soy suited to marinades, dipping or drizzling, and a Spicy Soy Sauce (185g), a savoury dark soy ideal for stir‑fries, noodles and marinades.

The Heat range includes a House Chilli Sauce (165g) offering everyday heat to “brighten eggs, rice and chicken”, and a Chilli Padi Sauce (165g), a sriracha‑style sauce made with bird’s eye chillies for those “who prefer more intense heat”.

Finally, the Topper range features Sambal Manis (115g), a “sweet yet fiery” chilli paste made with avocado oil and designed to be spooned over fried rice, noodles or vegetables, alongside a Hot Honey (215g), delivering “sweet heat” when drizzled over chicken, cheese or pizza.

The sauces contain no artificial preservatives, colours or flavourings, according to the brand.

“At Mei Mei Goods, we’re all about bringing bold Asian flavours effortlessly into your home,” said Haigh. “Partnering with Ocado means more people can enjoy cooking that’s simple, fun, and packed with flavour.”

Charley Belinis, buying manager at Ocado Retail, added: “Our customers are increasingly looking to experience the high quality and great taste of restaurant-standard meals from the comfort of their homes. Our partnership with Mei Mei Goods offers just that and we’re looking forward to hearing our customers’ feedback.”
