Key Lekkerland managing director David Rae will be the next chief executive of the Association of Convenience Stores.
Rae will join the ACS on August 31 as chief executive designate, and will take over from current ACS chief executive Trevor Dixon when he retires on October 31.
Rae commented: "Trevor's going to be a very tough act to follow, but I am fortunate to have a few months working with him before he retires."
Dixon said: "Not only has David a wide experience of the retail industry but he is already known as a persistent campaigner on behalf of the small store sector."
Key Lekkerland chairman Alan Symonds commented: "We wish David every success in his new post. He has done an excellent job at Key Centre in Rugby."
Rae, 54, worked for Texaco and Q8 prior to taking his current job, and turnover has doubled at Key Lekkerland since he joined in 1997.
He is a director of the Wholesale Confectionery and Tobacco Alliance which has worked closely with ACS on several issues.
