Australian frozen yoghurt brand Yo-Chi is to make its entry into the European market with the opening of its first UK venue in London this summer.
Founded in Melbourne in 2012, Yo-Chi has grown from four venues in 2020 to more than 75 locations across Australia, making it one of the country’s fastest-growing hospitality brands.
The first UK site, located at Notting Hill Gate, will span more than 2,000 sq ft across two floors and accommodate over 120 guests. It will also feature an in-store DJ booth for events.
At launch, customers will be able to chose from nine Yo-Chi frozen yoghurt flavours, eight of which are 98% fat-free. Each flavour is made using real Australian cows milk rather than powdered mixes and contains live probiotics, with dairy-free, vegan friendly, gluten friendly and nut-free options.
More than 30 toppings will be available, such as fresh fruit and Choc Chunk Cookie Cake, alongside sauces, spreads, cereals and biscuits. Each customisable bowl will be priced by weight.
The London launch follows the opening of Yo-Chi’s first international expansion into Singapore last year.
It also comes as Google Trends has recorded a 160% increase in searches for ‘frozen yoghurt’ over the past three months, alongside a 1,900% rise in searches for ‘froyo’.
“The UK has always been an exciting market for us, and we’ve been watching the growing awareness and demand for Yo-Chi from British consumers over recent years,” said Yo-Chi co-owner and chief brand officer Oliver Allis. “Following our expansion into Singapore, London felt like the natural next step as we look to introduce the brand to new communities internationally.
“Our first UK venue, opening in Notting Hill, will bring the full Yo-Chi experience to life, from our yoghurt made from fresh milk, not powder, to fully customisable bowls and the vibrant spaces and welcoming atmosphere that our customers know and love in Australia. We’re excited to become part of London’s hospitality scene and build a new community around the brand.”
