Spar UK has promoted Rachel Bartfield to trading manager as part of a wider restructure of its trading department.
Bartfield, one of three trading managers in the company, said: “Spar has merged its own label and branded departments to
make its structure more category focused.”
Bartfield had looked after health & beauty, baby and household but has switched to petfood, sauces, condiments, cook-in sauces and snack meals in her newly created role.
Bartfield has been a trainee buyer for the last 16 months. She joined Spar in October 2002 from Arthur Andersen, where she was a business analyst in international taxation.
Spar group trading director Peter Miller said: “We are restructuring our trading department and see talented young people like Rachel as fundamental to growing the business.”
