Bird Brothers has appointed a producer relations manager to help drive business growth.
Lizzie Musk has taken up the post at the egg business, which said she would be “instrumental” in growing its existing customer base.
As well as seeking out new relationships, Musk will liaise with existing contracted producers and ensure welfare standards and compliance through regular on-site visits and audits.
She brings a decade of experience to the role, having started her career at PJ Southgates before working at companies including Cranswick and Traditional Norfolk Poultry, among others.
It comes as Bird Brothers looks to achieve its Vision 2028 goal of phasing out colony cage egg production in favour of barn eggs.
Musk said it was “great to join the company at such a pivotal period in its growth and transition”.
“As a former poultry assessor and poultry welfare officer I’m excited to bring my skills and experience to my new role liaising with producers and maintaining excellent standards,” she added.
She was described as an “excellent addition” to the business by commercial director Matthew Bird.
“This is an exciting period of change for Bird Brothers as we roll out our barn conversion programme and look to expand our number of birds by an additional half a million in the coming years,” said Bird. “With that change comes a need for a highly experienced team to support that growth and uphold the highest of standards.”
