Califia Farms has launched Blueberry Matcha Almond Latte to tap into the UK’s booming matcha market.
The matcha latte (rsp: £2.95/750ml) contains almond milk and 0.4% single-origin Japanese matcha. It is suitable for vegans, only 93 calories and low in sugar.
It is also a “first-to-market” innovation for the UK, according to Califia Farms, which said the product combined “premium Japanese matcha with a subtle blueberry profile”, delivering “a more authentic and consistent flavour versus blended alternatives”.
Alongside the UK’s growing appetite for matcha, the brand said the launch looks to meet demand for convenient, café-style drinks at home and more flavour combinations.
“Matcha has become one of the most relevant trends in the UK drinks category, but there is still significant headroom for innovation in retail,” said Califia Farms UK & EU GM Damien Threadgold.
“With our Blueberry Matcha Almond Latte, we’re bringing something genuinely new to shelf – combining authentic Japanese matcha with a distinctive flavour twist to help retailers tap into that demand,” he said. “It’s about delivering a premium, café-style experience in a convenient format that meets the needs of today’s shopper.”
Rolling out on 18 May, Blueberry Matcha Almond Latte will be available exclusively from Tesco for three months.
