Britvic Soft Drinks plans to target adult squash drinkers with the relaunch and new health-oriented positioning of Robinsons Barley Water. It is adding a new flavour Robinsons Orange and Cranberry Barley Water from July to join existing orange and lemon variants. From May, Barley Water will have new packaging, with brighter coloured labels and a 1 litre PET bottle. It plans a £400,000 programme to support the brand, which includes advertising and sampling as well as its ongoing involvement with the Wimbledon lawn tennis championships. Cathryn Sleight, Britvic's director of still drinks, said the new health positioning of Barley Water had the potential to "extend the age profile of squash drinkers and add value through premium pricing".
