The beers were inspired by the creative spirit of Brooklyn, Carlsberg Britvic said

Brooklyn Brewery has unveiled a trio of limited-edition craft beers.

Bel Air Sour, Fonio Rising Double Pilsner and Black Chocolate Stout have launched exclusively in Tesco, ahead of a wider market rollout.

The new brews offered retailers an opportunity to “tap into craft beer” while “appealing to a broad range of beer drinkers”, according to Brooklyn Brewery supplier Carlsberg Britvic.

Bel Air Sour (rsp: £3.25/440ml) was a “tart and tropical sour ale” and “ideal for flavour explorers looking for something refreshing and different”, it said.

Fonio Rising Double Pilsner (£.3.75/440ml) was a “robust and crisp golden lager with notes of tropical fruit”. The 6.4% abv lager is brewed using the ancient west African grain fonio.

The Black Chocolate Stout (£.4.25/440ml), meanwhile, promises “notes of rich cocoa and fresh ground espresso”, alongside a punchy 8.4% abv.

“Craft drinkers are constantly exploring – they want distinctive styles and limited products that bring something new to the category,” said Anna Cheatley, marketing controller for craft & ale at Carlsberg Britvic. “These new additions not only reflect the vibrant, creative spirit of Brooklyn, our brand’s namesake borough, but also build on our long-standing craft credentials and brewing expertise of our brewmaster, Garrett Oliver.

“Through bold can designs and distinctive flavours, Bel Air Sour, Fonio Rising Double Pilsner and Black Chocolate Stout are designed to stand out on-shelf, helping retailers to drive sales.”
