Caffe Nero store front

Caffè Nero UK delivered positive sales growth last year, boosted by iced drink and matcha sales.

For the year to 31 May 2026, like-for-like sales increased by 4.5%, while overall sales grew by 5%. This was supported by the success of its iced drinks sales, which grew by 52%, with matcha accounting for a “significant amount” of it.

Caffè Nero’s parent company, the Nero Group, which operates 1,191 stores across 11 countries, experienced record sales of £670m for the period.

The group’s overall sales grew 8%, with like-for-like sales up 4.1%. It also opened 72 new stores in the year and anticipates opening at least 80 new stores in the coming year.

“I’m hugely encouraged by the group’s performance during the last financial year,” said Nero Group founder and CEO Gerry Ford. “Despite tough trading conditions, a challenging financial climate and geopolitical conflicts, we have continued to outperform the market and gain market share.

“We are focused on the premium end of the coffee market and have been able to take a leadership role in that segment. Our success is a testament to the hard work of our store teams, the strength of our brand and the great innovation and delivery of premium coffee, iced drinks and service. I’m really proud of what all our people have delivered over the last 12 months.”

He added that the business entered the current financial year with “strong momentum” and was set up for “another successful year”.
