Caribbean cooking sauce startup Nimi Nosh has secured a nationwide Tesco listing.
It has launched three products – Epic Jerk Quick Marinade & Sauce, Cracking Curry Quick Marinade & Sauce (both rsp: £3.30/250ml) and Authentic Pepper Sauce (rsp: £2.85/150ml) – into 400 of the retailer’s stores, as well as online.
This is Nimi Nosh’s first major grocery listing. The brand, formerly known as Nimi & Nosh, was founded by Jamaican-born Londoner, Nicole ‘Nimi’ Michael, in 2023. Michael was inspired by her mother, who was a food market trader in Kingston, Jamaica, to bring Caribbean flavours to the UK.
“I was mesmerised by her artistry in combining specific spices to create sauces that brought sunshine to the hustle and bustle of my town and its people,” said Michael.
Michael has spent the past two years trialling her recipes at over 70 food markets and events, and honing the recipes.
“This is what we’ve bottled up in this range, a way to ‘jam in the flava’ to every meal and make it memorable for busy consumers who so often mix up their cuisines in the name of inspiration, invention and joy,” she said.
“I couldn’t be happier to see it on supermarket shelves.”
Nimi Nosh’s entire range of sauces, featuring updated branding, will be available DTC when it overhauls its webstore in autumn.
