The Christmas Radio Times 2001 sold 2,630,000 copies  or more than 200 copies a minute in pre-Christmas trading hours, according to the BBC  making the double issue the biggest-selling magazine of the year in the UK. The magazine generated a retail sales value of £4,338,000  a 38.9% increase on last year's total. As a result, said the BBC, the Radio Times was worth more to retailers than TV Times and What's On TV combined. The final sales total is more than double the regular weekly figure for Radio Times, which has a current circulation of 1,200,796 (ABC, January-June 2001). In terms of pagination, the Christmas issue was the biggest edition in Radio Times' 78-year history at 246 pages. Radio Times publisher Ashley Munday said: "Yet again, the Christmas Radio Times has been the magazine industry's highlight of the year. "These sales figures prove that Christmas really wouldn't be Christmas without Radio Times." {{CTN }}
