Coca-Cola has expanded its portfolio with the launch of Coca-Cola Cherry Float and Coca-Cola Cherry Float Zero Sugar.
The new flavour was inspired by the “nostalgic taste of classic soda floats” and offered “bold cherry notes with smooth vanilla”, the soft drinks giant said.
Coca-Cola Cherry Float is available now in 330ml cans (rsp :£1.25), plain 500ml and £1.79 PMP bottles, as well as 8x330ml multipacks and 1.75l bottles.
Coca-Cola Cherry Float Zero Sugar, meanwhile, has rolled out in 330ml cans, plain 500ml and £1.40 PMP bottles, as well as 8x330ml multipacks, and plain 2l and £2.29 PMP bottles.
The permanent flavour joins Coca-Cola’s cherry portfolio of Diet Coke Cherry, Coca-Cola Cherry and Coca-Cola Cherry Zero Sugar.
More than half of the cola segment’s growth last year came from cherry-flavoured colas, said Coca-Cola Europacific Partners (CCEP), citing NIQ data.
Rob Yeomans, vice-president of commercial development at CCEP GB, said: “This launch is set to be a standout performer. It’s a winning combination, and we’ve got some high-profile marketing activity lined up to help retailers make the most of it.”
Ellie D’Silva, senior marketing manager at Coca-Cola GB, added: “Cherry flavours continue to be a fan favourite, and the introduction of Cherry Float across both original and zero sugar variants gives consumers even more choice within the Coca-Cola Cherry range.
“Inspired by the nostalgic taste of classic soda floats, the new flavour reflects our continued focus on innovation while offering fans new ways to enjoy the iconic Coca-Cola taste.”
