Fraser Parramint: excited to build on the ‘strong foundation’ left by outgoing MD David Bashford

Food safety and compliance firm Food Alert has appointed a new managing director to replace David Bashford after 26 years in post.

Fraser Parramint took up the role at Food Alert this morning (19 August) as part of a handover concluding on 28 August with Bashford’s retirement.

Charged with delivering sustainable business growth and the digital transformation of Food Alert’s safety and compliance services, Parramint’s appointment has marked a “significant milestone” in Food Alert’s mission to grow throughout the UK, according to the company.

Bringing over 25 years’ leadership experience in food and hospitality leadership to the role, Parramint was most recently employed as group operations director at craft baker The Bread Factory. Prior roles include commercial director for burger chain Byron and as M&S’s hospitality buyer.

“Fraser is someone I’ve known and worked with for many years, both as a client and a respected industry figure,” said Bashford.

“His experience across hospitality, retail, and manufacturing gives him a unique perspective and makes him the ideal person to lead Food Alert into its next chapter. Fraser shares my commitment to making compliance seamless and effective, and I’m confident the company will continue to thrive under his leadership.”

“Food Alert has a rich history and a deserved reputation for excellence,” Parramint said, adding he was excited to build on the “strong foundation” left by Bashford.

“In a climate where compliance, safety, and risk management have never been more critical, I look forward to working with the talented Food Alert team to support our clients and deliver outstanding service.”
