Five Esquires cafés will be rolling out inside select Tesco stores

Cooks Coffee Company has partnered with Tesco Ireland to launch Esquires Coffee stores in five of the supermarket giant’s locations.

The Esquires cafés will launch inside Tesco’s Ardkeen Waterford, Wexford Town, Clonmel, Tullamore and Youghal locations before the end of November.

They will be complete with full café layouts and will offer “extensive” coffee and food ranges, according to Cooks Coffee, which owns the Esquires brand.

The five stores will be run by the same franchisee that operates Esquires Mullingar, one of the most successful brands in the Esquires Ireland portfolio.

“Partnerships with businesses such as Tesco Ireland are part of our ongoing strategy and innovation as we continue our fast-track growth,” said Cooks Coffee executive chairman Keith Jackson.

It follows a year of positive trading for Cooks Coffee, which posted a 43% rise in group revenue to £3m for the year to 31 March 2025.

In June, the company attributed this growth to its focus on market towns, housing developments, retail parks and suburban locations, alongside its focus on “organic coffee products and an enhanced food offering”.

At the end of the financial year, the franchise café chain operated 89 group sites in the UK and Ireland, up 19% from 75 as of 1 April 2024. The company aims to have 300 stores by 2034, a target CEO Aiden Keegan told The Grocer it was “well on track toward”.
