Trewithen Dairy is expanding its premium lineup with the launch of what it dubs its most ‘luxurious and creamiest’ milk to date.
Cornwall Gold will hit shelves in Sainsbury’s on 27 August, followed by Tesco on 27 October in one (rsp: £1.85) and two-litre formats (rsp: £2.25).
The golden milk aims to appeal to consumers seeking a return to full-fat dairy with fewer, more recognisable natural ingredients, said the Glynn Valley-based Cornish brand.
Sourced from herds grazing within 25 miles of the dairy, the NPD contains a 5% full-fat content and joins the brand’s range of milk, clotted cream, butter and yoghurt.
It is claimed to be a “modern interpretation” of traditional gold top milk, which is blended throughout to create a cream texture.
Last year, Trewithen Dairy was bought by leading German dairy processor Ehrmann as part of a major push into the UK.
“We’re proud to be expanding our range with Cornwall Gold, a premium milk that showcases the quality of Cornish milk while delivering a beautifully blended, decadent experience,” said Mark Moody, Trewithen Dairy & Ehrmann UK’s marketing director.
“It’s a standout addition that strengthens our offering in the premium dairy space.”
This week Ehrmann announced plans to invest £20m in Trewithen’s dairy and processing capacity and capabilities at the Glynn Valley site, with the upgraded plant set to open in 2026. The facility will enable UK-based manufacturing of Ehrmann’s ranges including High Protein, Grand Desserts, and Robby, which will reduce the need for imports and enhance supply chain agility, the brand said.
