Danone Dairies UK has recruited Adam Grant, sales director for L’Oréal cosmetics and haircare brands Garnier and Maybelline, as its new commercial director.
He will be responsible for leading the sales team and overseeing the category management function.
Danone Dairies UK said that Grant would aim to grow long-term trade partnerships and inject added value into the dairy category.
He will be looking to continue the growth of the company’s bio yogurt range Activia Sensation, which it launched in September last year (The Grocer, August 23, 2003, p53).
He will also endeavour to drive the ongoing sales of the Shape yogurt brand, which Danone bought in 2002 and relaunched in August 2003. The company’s other brands include probiotic drink Actimel.
Grant has worked for L’Oréal for the last six and a half years in various sales roles. Before that he worked for Unilever.
