Dougie Edgar was handed the chain of office as the new president of the SGF for the second time ­ making him only the third person in the history of the federation to hold the post twice. His last term of office was back in 1985/86. Edgar runs four busy Spar shops in new Cumnock, Kilmarnock, Cumnock and Castle Douglas. He also serves as chairman of Scottish Grocery Trade Management Services, a company under the umbrella of the SGF. Outgoing president Eddie Thompson, owner of c-store chain Morning Noon & Night, is promising to devote more time to the Scottish Retail Consortium. {{NEWS }}
