Ferrero has rolled out six Wonka treats in Morrisons and Asda

Ferrero has unveiled the first Wonka-branded products from its exclusive global partnership with Netflix, announced in May.

The lineup comprises six treats: Wonka Magic Hats (rsp: £7.65/174g), Wonka Oompa Loompa Milk Chocolate Hollow Figurine (rsp: £4.50/90g), Wonka Purplypurple Milk Chocolate Bar (rsp: £3.75/90g), Wonka Magic Garden Ropes (rsp: £2.30/100g), Wonka Oompa Loompa Gummies (£2.30/142g) and a Wonka Kinder Joy Egg (rsp: £1.60/20g).

They have rolled out in Morrisons and Asda, ahead of launching in other major retailers, including Tesco from 22 October.

The confectionery giant is set to introduce a total of 10 Wonka lines this autumn, including seasonal and limited-edition products across chocolate, sugar confectionery and ice cream. Products will be available in multiple markets, including the UK, Ireland, US, France, Italy and Germany.

It comes after the Ferrero Group secured the exclusive confectionery rights to the Wonka brand in 2018 following its purchase of Nestlé’s US confectionery business.

The Wonka range was developed at Ferrero’s Alfreton Centre of Excellence in Derbyshire, a site that has received more than £35m of investment since 2018.

Ferrero said the range was created by combining “local UK expertise with its global capabilities” to develop imaginative products for consumers around the world.

“This launch is a proud moment for Ferrero in the UK. Our Alfreton team has played a key role in bringing the new Wonka range to life, combining deep confectionery expertise with the creativity, craft and technical capability needed to reimagine such an iconic brand for today’s consumers,” said Craig Barker, managing director, Ferrero UK & Ireland.

“The fact that products developed with UK expertise will be enjoyed by consumers in the UK, Ireland and other markets around the world speaks to the strength of our people, our manufacturing capability and our continued investment in innovation here in Derbyshire.”

The launch comes as Netflix expands the Wonka franchise with a reality competition series called The Golden Ticket, premiering this month.
