The new menu item will be available from 9 December

Five Guys is to launch loaded fries, marking the first time the burger brand has added a new item to its food menu.

The new offer will feature a “generous portion” of salted or cajun fries, topped with hot cheese sauce, a ‘secret’ fry sauce, and up to 14 toppings of choice, including grilled onions, bacon, pickles, jalapeños, and new crispy onions.

The new menu item will be available from today (9 December) for dine-in and takeaway in Five Guys restaurants across England, Scotland and Wales.

“Loaded fries mark a historic moment for Five Guys as our first-ever food menu addition,” said Five Guys UK CEO John Eckbert. ”We believe they’ll be an instant hit and a go-to choice for fans across the UK.”

In July, the burger chain secured a £185m refinancing deal to expand across the UK. At the time, Eckbert told Sky News the capital injection would be “instrumental in accelerating our expansion strategy”.

Five Guys has opened more than 170 restaurants across the UK since its launch in 2013. It is understood that it now looks to open a greater number of drive-thru sites, both in the UK and in other European locations.
