Patrick Davis, former chief executive of Food from Britain, who left the organisation 18 months ago to head Britain's largest farming co-operative, is back in grocery. He has set up his own firm, Food & Drink Solutions, based in Droitwich Spa.
Having spent over 30 years in the industry with Cadbury Schweppes, Premier Brands, Hillsdown and Food from Britain, Davis, 54, has formed his own operation focused on providing a variety of services to food and drink companies.
Food & Drink Solutions has recently agreed to act as marketing advisor to Cambridge based Generics Group which specialises in new product and process development and to help increase their services to the food and drink sector.
Generics is a £350m business. In December 2000 it became a publicly quoted company and is seeking to expand in the food industry.
As The Grocer went to press, Davis had also agreed to become director of executive search with Merston Peters of Bury St Edmunds, which specialises in search and recruitment, again working exclusively in food and drink. Merston Peters has actively grown its business in recent years and has ambitious plans for expansion.
Davis said: "I am keen to grow Food and Drink Solutions into a business providing a range of quality services. The industry is constantly looking for quality service providers. I see it as my job to provide such introductions and to help in finding solutions."
Davis was CEO of Food from Britain from 1994 to 2000.
