The business provided meals for the healthcare and education sectors

Foodservice supplier BonCulina has entered administration and ceased trading, with over 100 employees having been made redundant.

Anglia Crown Limited, which was trading under the BonCulina brand, appointed Kroll administrators Benjamin Wiles and Robert Armstrong on 10 November.

The business, based in Colchester, Essex, provided meals for sectors including healthcare, education and corporate clients. According to its latest available accounts for the year to 31 December 2023, profit after tax fell to £105,744, down from £650,337 in 2022.

It is understood that approximately 130 employees were made redundant after the business ceased trading ahead of Kroll’s appointment.

“Our immediate priority is to review the position of the business and determine the best possible outcome for all stakeholders,” said Kroll MD Wiles.

“We recognise this is an extremely difficult time for those who have been made redundant as a result of the administration, and we are committed to providing them with all appropriate guidance during this process.”
