St Ewe Free Range Eggs has appointed former Müller Yogurt & Desserts boss Justin Cook as chairman.
Cook brings more than two decades of board-level experience across major global food and drinks brands with him, having also worked at Kraft, Mondelez and Jacobs Douwe Egberts. He was Müller Yoghurt & Desserts CEO between 2021 and 2024.
His appointment comes just weeks after Martin Glinski stepped down as St Ewe MD, saying: “It feels like the right time for new leadership to take the business forward into its next phase.”
St Ewe, a Cornish family-owned business, is preparing for the next stage of its growth after a standout period when its turnover nearly doubled from £27.3m to £50.9m in the year to 31 March 2025. It has expanded its team to 152 employees.
“St Ewe is a unique business, founded on family values with a wonderful story that has truly shaken up the egg category,” Cook said. “I feel proud to be able to provide stewardship with the rest of the board through the exciting next phase of St. Ewe’s journey.”
He added: “As the category continues to evolve, there is a real opportunity for St Ewe to drive further growth, through continued innovation and by engaging shoppers in a more meaningful way.”
Alongside Cook’s appointment, former Waitrose trading director Simon Moore and experienced business leader MP Doug Field have joined as non-executive directors.
Rebecca Tonks, the founder and CEO of St Ewe Free Range Eggs, said the appointments brought “exceptional experience, leadership and values alignment” to the business’ board at a “hugely exciting time”.
“As we continue to scale the business, invest in innovation and champion better farming and food production, Justin, Doug and Simon each bring deep expertise that will help guide the next phase of our growth while protecting the culture and values that make St Ewe special,” she continued.
Tonks added: “St Ewe is a unique business, founded on family values with a wonderful story that has truly shaken up the egg category. I feel proud to be able to provide stewardship with the rest of the board through the exciting next phase of St Ewe’s journey.”
