Formula 1 driver Charles Leclerc has teamed up with Italian gelato masters Federico Grom and Guido Martinetti to launch a new reduced calorie ice cream brand.
Called Lec, the sweet treat was “a celebration of taste, lightness, and indulgence”, according to the brand. It has launched on the rapid delivery service Gopuff (rsp: £5.60/460ml).
Available in flavours including Swirly Pistachi-oh!, Peanut Caramel Tango, Vanillove, Chocolate Crunch and Salty Carammmel, Lec ice cream contains a maximum of 399 calories per tub.
It also contains up to 68% less fat than the average ice creams in tubs and pots sold in the UK.
“As a top-tier athlete, Charles Leclerc’s lifestyle revolves around discipline, wellness, and balance,” said Federico Grom, co-founder of Lec. “But his love for ice cream – his ultimate indulgence – often meant choosing between taste and his ambition. That conflict sparked a bold mission: reinvent ice cream so you don’t have to choose any more.”
Leclerc is not the first Formula 1 star to enter the world of fmcg. His Ferrari team-mate Lewis Hamilton is the founder of non-alcoholic blue agave spirit Almave.
Last month, McLaren driver Lando Norris partnered with Monster on co-branded zero-sugar energy drink called Monster Lando Norris Zero Sugar.
The drink, available in stores from this month, features a Melon Yuzu flavour.
