Glenmorangie is beefing up its export operations by developing close ties with the US company Brown-Forman.
It will handle the Glenmorangie and Ardbeg export brands in most export markets and the rest of the portfolio will be included on a selected country basis.
Brown-Forman already distributes the malt whiskies in the US.
To cement the relationship it is buying 10% of Glenmorangie's ordinary shares which carry 10% of the voting rights.
The Scottish company is hoping to benefit from the US operator's global sales and marketing infrastructure.
