Gordon Ramsay is launching an upmarket olive oil brand that aims to “redefine and rethink” the category.
The celebrity chef has co-founded Krude with Ben and Elle Caring, owners of Soho House wine brand Lady A. The brand debuts this month with seven products including infused and uninfused extra virgin olive oils.
The Infused range comprises four flavours: Chilli, Garlic, Lemon and Basil (rsp: £22/250ml). The oils are “uniquely” crafted by cold-pressing fresh ingredients alongside early-harvest olives, ensuring the “flavour is fully integrated from the start”, the brand said.
Ingredients are sourced globally to “maximise flavour”, including Sicilian lemons, Spanish garlic, Moroccan red pepper and French basil.
The Nude range, meanwhile, offers two uninfused extra virgin olive oils (rsp: from £13). ‘Finish Me’ Nude is designed for “drizzling, dressing and finishing”, while ‘Cook Me’ Nude was created for cooking and is the only variant available in a can and spray bottle.
Krude said its oils were fully traceable to family-run farms in Spain and were “naturally rich in polyphenols and healthy fats”. They will be available via the brand’s website, launching on 21 May.
The 100% UV-protective can and pouring spout are designed to minimise exposure to light and oxygen, two of olive oil’s “biggest enemies”, said the brand. The metal packaging also reduces exposure to microplastics, while being lighter and having a lower carbon footprint than glass.
Krude added that it works closely with farmers to support “sustainable practices that protect soil health, olive trees and future harvests”.
“The best olive oil is about flavour, the aroma, the quality and the pour. Krude is olive oil the way nature meant it! Bold and pure. We’ve challenged everything: how it’s made, how it’s packaged, how it performs,” said Ramsay.
“Olive oil shouldn’t be an afterthought, it should hit the plate with purpose. So don’t hold back, pour like you mean it. It’s time to Krude your food.”
