Heck is expanding its chicken sausage range with the launch of a first Cumberland Chicken Sausage line.
The “protein-packed” (18g per 100g) six-sausage SKU (rsp: £3.50/340g) has been made with lean chicken, black pepper, sage and spices, and will be available nationwide at Morrisons and Tesco from mid-September.
Heck said the sausages were an “easy win” for making healthy meals and “feel effortless and brilliantly versatile”, while also offering shoppers a “lighter spin” on the classic, pork-based Cumberland banger.
They can be eaten with mash, used in a sausage sandwich or hot dog, or thrown into stir fries and traybakes “to upgrade breakfast, lunch or dinner”.
The launch is the latest among the brand’s “booming range” of “lean sausages, juicy burgers, seasoned mince and innovative sausage rashers” which cook in five minutes and contain no added nitrites.
“[They’re] perfect for anyone looking to boost their protein without compromising on flavour and, like everything in the Heck chicken range, they’re also gluten-free and naturally lower in fat,” the Yorkshire-based supplier said.
