Yorkshire drinks supplier Nidhöggr has rolled out what it claims is the UK’s first ‘hard honey’ liqueur.
Called Honey Thief and available in 15% abv liqueur (rsp:£35/70cl) and 5% abv RTD (rsp: £16/4x330ml) formats, it offered “a modern, naturally sweet twist on liqueurs and RTDs” according to the supplier.
The drinks played “straight into current consumer demand for flavour-led, craft alcohol and creative cocktail making”, it added.
Initially, four flavours are available. They are: Pure Honey, Elderflower Nectar, Sour Cherry and Blueberry & Blackcurrant.
“Honey Thief is all about breaking the rules of traditional liqueurs,” said the brand’s sales director Robert Taylor. ”We wanted to create something playful, premium, and completely new – and early feedback from drinks experts and grocery drinks buyers has been phenomenal.
“With sweet serves trending and sessionable, lower abvs in demand, especially with younger drinkers, Honey Thief hits the sweet spot for a wide range of formats and occasions.”
Interested retailers can enquire about stocking Honey Thief from the brand’s website.
