Building work is due to get under way later this month to develop a state-of-the-art 63,000 sq ft Hothi Cash & Carry depot with more parking and wider aisles.
The north London business is also to be rebranded as part of the revamp, although a decision on the new name has yet to be taken.
Managing director Prakash Thakrar is nearly doubling the sales area of the warehouse as part of ambitious growth plans to build on last year’s like-for-like sales increase of 56%. The sales area will be increased to 42,000 sq ft and there will also be more space for car parking.
The Today’s Group member is currently number 29 on The Grocer Big 30 list of wholesalers with a turnover of £69.65m.
Two thirds of business is generated through beers, wines and spirits sales and Thakrar has said that he wanted to move towards becoming a delivered wholesaler.
He is also working to improve customer service and will be expanding his retail club loyalty reward scheme.
