McColl rebranding
Martin McColl has begun the task of rebranding 92 Smile stores it bought from wholesaler T&A Symonds. It has rebranded a Smile store in Westbury-on-Trym, Bristol, with its c-store fascia McColl's.
Online not as fresh
Groceries bought online are not as fresh as products bought in-store, a survey by Which? has indicated. In one instance, a loaf of bread ordered online by the consumer body had a sell-by date eight days earlier than a loaf bought in a store.
Sustainable palm oil
Sainsbury's is to phase out the use of palm oil from unsustainable sources in its own label products. It will convert the first product - Basics Fish Fingers - to sustainable oil by May 2008.
