JJ Foodservice has launched a new Fish & Chips campaign to highlight the business as a “one-stop shop” for fish and seafood.

Launching ahead of National Fish & Chip Day on 5 June, the campaign includes a new brochure showcasing the wholesaler’s full frozen fish and seafood range and a £30-off voucher for all new customers.

An educational social media campaign explaining the benefits of MSC-certified Frozen at Sea (FAS), Individually Quick Frozen (IQF) and Wild Caught options will also roll out.

The campaign will showcase the different benefits of each format for chip shop operators, such as the freshness and firmer texture of FAS, consistent portion sizing of Wild Caught, and no defrosting waste from IQF.

Featured brands include Glacialis, Enniberg, BN and Kirkella, alongside JJ’s own Wild Caught range, developed specifically for the chip-shop trade in portion sizes from 4oz to 32oz-plus.

The brochure will also list sauces such as Harrisons and Heinz, as well as Pukka Pies, Ben Shaws soft drinks, and alternative proteins like breaded chicken, alongside packaging, cleaning and hygiene products.

“Fish and seafood caterers have had a tough few years, and we want to make it as easy as possible for them to get back on the front foot – reliable cod and haddock supply at a time when sourcing good fish isn’t straightforward, plus everything else a busy shop needs, all under one roof, with one delivery, from one supplier,” said JJ Foodservice chief sales officer Baris Kacar.

It follows JJ’s announcement in March of its plans to expand to two new branches this year, with a 28,000 sq ft site in Ipswich and a 33,000 sq ft Nottingham branch.

It forms part of the group’s national expansion drive, after it set out a five-year strategy in October to launch eight new branches and its first overseas facility in the Netherlands.
