JJ Foodservice has unveiled plans to expand to two new branches this year, while it continues to grow its product range with specialist and premium lines.

The wholesaler has acquired a new 28,000 sq ft site in Ipswich, which is due to open later this year. This will extend its reach across the region with businesses and homes in Ipswich, Great Yarmouth, Norwich, Colchester and surrounding areas able to access its product range.

“Ipswich has a vibrant and fast‑growing food scene, with an exciting mix of restaurants across the waterfront and town centre,” said JJ Foodservice chief operating officer Kaan Hendekli. ”We’re looking forward to supporting that growth with our quality, range and service.”

JJ Foodservice has also confirmed that its 33,000 sq ft Nottingham branch remains on track to open this summer.

It forms part of the group’s national expansion drive, after it set out a five-year strategy in October to launch eight new branches and its first overseas facility in the Netherlands.

It also comes as over the past year, the business has expanded its product range by 19% in partnership with suppliers. This has seen it adding new premium beers, wines and spirits, an extended alcohol offer, and specialist Asian, Mediterranean and world food lines for foodservice operators.
