JJ Foodservice has launched a live delivery tracking app in what it has described as a ”UK first” for foodservice wholesale.
The new app will give customers real-time visibility of their order from the moment a driver departs, including live lorry location, driver details and an updated arrival window when delivery is minutes away.
Customers will also be able to see how far away their driver is, displayed as the number of stops until delivery.
When the driver is three or fewer stops away, a live map will activate and updates continuously. This shows the vehicle’s current location, updated arrival time, the driver’s name and the vehicle registration. The live map also displays both the driver’s current position and the customer’s location.
“Our customers are running busy kitchens and operations – they don’t have time to wonder when their delivery is coming or wait by the door all morning,” said JJ Foodservice chief technology officer Michael Dudley.
“By showing clear progress throughout the day and then switching to a live map when the lorry is close, we’ve given them the right information at the right time. It’s the same experience people expect when they order a takeaway or weekly shopping, and there’s no reason wholesale shouldn’t deliver that too.”
It comes as JJ Foodservice is relaunching its Future Partners programme for 2026 to connect food, drink, cleaning and packaging suppliers with buyers.
Following a successful debut in 2025, Future Partners is returning as the wholesaler continues to expand its range and open new branches across the UK. The programme will take place at this year’s JJ Connect conference on 9 October at Convene Bishopsgate, London.
