John West has added Stir & Serve, a ready-to-heat tuna range designed to meet growing demand for quick and convenient meals.
Stir & Serve offered consumers a “two-serve pouch filled with tender pieces of MSC-certified Skipjack Tuna in a variety of well-loved dinnertime sauces”, said the brand.
The lineup comprises: Tomato & Basil; Soy, Ginger & Honey; Spicy Mexican; and Mild Curry, and is stocked in Asda, Sainsbury’s, Waitrose and Ocado (rsp: £3.79/300g).
Ready in two minutes, each microwavable pouch provides 46g of protein and was designed to be served alongside carbohydrates. The packs contain no artificial colours, flavours or additives.
The launch will be supported by a dinnertime-focused campaign, spanning VOD, digital and influencer activity.
“Let’s face it, we’ve all had those nights where you get in from work, can’t be bothered to cook and end up having the same old thing again – or splash out on a takeaway as the easy option,” said Ben Ford, MD of John West Foods.
“That’s what our Stir & Serve is all about – a proper shortcut to tasty dinners that doesn’t feel like you’ve cut corners. Packed with protein and full of flavour, getting tea on the table is a whole lot easier.”
Ford was named managing director in February after predecessor Mark Doherty left the business “of his own accord”.
