Plastic-free personal care brand KinKind has made its deodorants debut, rolling out antiperspirant promising 48-hour odour protection and anti-sweat performance.
Fresh as a Daisy Meadow Mist and Touch of Paradise Coconut Fresh are available from KinKind’s web store as a £12.95 starter pack of aluminium case and refill. Single refills are £7.95 and promise to last up to three months. More than 90% of their ingredients were 90% skin-caring and over two-thirds were moisturising, said the brand. The refills contain no alcohol, parabens, silicones or irritants such as bicarbonate of soda.
The stick antiperspirant was the result of five years’ development, said KinKind, which this month gained B Corp certification. It came after the brand had “identified the huge unmet consumer need, where 78% of consumers said that they would want a plastic-free antiperspirant deodorant vs 22% a plastic-free deodorant. This tallies directionally with the current market split of antiperspirant deodorants vs natural deodorants.”
The launch arrives alongside KinKind’s addition of refillable stick deodorant Keep Me Fresh Coconut Fresh. It offers “24-hour freshness and over three-quarters moisturising ingredients”.
The NPD marks the latest in the buoyant natural toiletries market. Yesterday (23 June), Unilever announced its acquisition of Dr Squatch, the US male grooming challenger that makes natural soap, deodorant and other lines. The deal came just two months after Unilever snapped up Wild, the fast-growing British maker of natural, refillable deodorants.
