Kraft Heinz has appointed Lucy Hovey as its new UK&I chief financial officer, succeeding Darren Vries, who is leaving after more than eight years with the business.
Hovey has joined Kraft Heinz from Unilever, where she spent 13 years in a range of senior finance positions after a seven-year stint at KPMG’s consumer goods advisory business.
Most recently, she spent two years as CFO for Unilever’s UK & Ireland personal care division while also acting as finance lead for deodorants and skin cleansing across Europe.
Before that, she held leadership positions across Unilever’s global and local organisations, including on brands such as Dove, Lynx and REN Clean Skincare, where she led a turnaround and helped restore the brand’s growth and profitability.
In her new role, Hovey will lead Kraft Heinz’ UK & Ireland finance function, devising strategy and working with wider leadership to drive growth.
“Lucy is a highly accomplished finance leader with a strong track record of partnering closely with commercial teams to deliver profitable, sustainable growth,” said Kraft Heinz UK&I managing director Marta Pilczuk.
“Her breadth of experience across category and business-unit leadership, combined with her collaborative, people-first approach, will be invaluable as we continue to build momentum in the UK & Ireland. I’m delighted to welcome Lucy to Kraft Heinz, and I’d like to thank Darren for his leadership and contribution to the business as we begin this transition.”
Hovey added she was “incredibly excited” to join.
“[The team is] clearly ambitious, energetic and focused on what comes next,” she said.
“I’m looking forward to learning quickly, supporting the continued success of the UK&I business and bringing fresh perspective along the way.”
