Lean Kitchen Network is bringing a new food brand to Tesco, backed by Samworth Brothers and promising to deliver meals high in protein and fibre.
The brand, called Hide, launches with eight products – six chilled ready meals and two salad bowls – that will be available in stores from 13 April.
Each meal or bowl contains at least 25g of protein, 8g of fibre, and no more than 5g of added sugar. The range was designed around “whole ingredients and nutrient prioritisation”, according to Lean Kitchen.
It was developed alongside Dr Rupy Aujla, founder of The Doctor’s Kitchen and Hide’s scientific ambassador, to help customers “hit 25g of protein per meal and the NHS‑recommended 30g of fibre a day”, he said.
The ready meal lineup includes BBQ Jerk Chicken with Jollof Rice, Peri Peri Chicken with Roasted Sweet Potato, Chicken Shawarma with Hot Honey Sweet Potato, Creamy Mushroom Pasta with Kale & Pecorino, King Prawn & Chicken Paella with Roasted Veg, and Malaysian Beef with Brown Rice (rsp: £5/380g).
The two salad bowls span BBQ Pulled Pork, Green Chilli & Chickpea Grain Bowl, and Peri Peri Chicken, Sweet Potato & Chickpea Grain Bowl (rsp £4.95/320g).
Hide will also add two snack pots to its Tesco range from 20 April: Chicken Tikka & Lentil Bites, and Jerk Chicken & Sweet Potato Bites. Both contain five chicken bites made with vegetables, herbs and spices (rsp: £1.50/50g).
Faraz Nagree, founder and CEO of Lean Kitchen Network, said: “Eating well shouldn’t be this complicated. There’s more noise, more conflicting advice, and more pressure around food than ever before, but the meals that are actually good for you are still out of reach for most people, too expensive and too inconvenient.
“That’s the gap we’re trying to close. Hide is built around one simple belief: that our meals should taste incredible, be made with honest ingredients, and be priced so that more people in the UK can eat well every day.”
