Computer and video games magazine publisher Paragon Publishing is launching a new magazine called Digital Music Maker. The publication is aimed at entry level computer musicians.
The 132 page launch issue goes on sale on April 26 and will be published quarterly.
The magazine includes technical details and the software tools needed to make music on a computer, and will carry a covermounted CD on each issue.
The compact disc is designed to fully integrate with the magazine and will contain all the software resources and sound archives that readers will need to carry out the projects and tutorials inside the magazine.
Paragon says the magazine's unique selling point is the easy to follow tutorials, tailormade to suit all levels of ability.
The magazine also includes reviews and buyers' guides to music software and hardware peripherals.
Tips and techniques from experts in the industry are intended to help readers improve their music.
Managing editor Tim McCann says: "The way we make music is changing. More of the music we listen to is created inside a computer.
"There are thousands of computer owners out there who can tap into this change and create their kind of music on the PC at home.
"They have the ability to not only make it sound professional, but get it heard across the world using tools such as the internet.
McCann added: "This is an area no longer just the preserve of the professionals and hobbyists. Anyone with a PC and some software can have a go."
Distribution of Digital Music Maker is by Seymour.
The latest launch from Paragon follows on from its two new titles launched last month PC First Aid and Top 100 DVDs.
