Zambrero currently has 13 restaurants across England

Mexican-inspired quick-service restaurant chain Zambrero is kicking off its franchise recruitment programme as it plans to open 100 sites in the UK by 2030.

The business, which will create 1,500 jobs in the expansion process, has signed up its first three franchise partners who will open restaurants in the next 12 months, including its first site in Scotland.

Its plans will see Zambrero recruiting franchise partners to join its network of restaurant owners and business support specialists.

The chain is also looking for multi-site ownership to help drive expansion and is seeking area developers to accelerate recruitment across the UK.

Since its launch in the UK in 2021, Zambrero now has 13 restaurants across England, in locations including London, Manchester, Birmingham, Reading and Essex.

The restaurant chain was originally founded in Australia in 2005. It is now also present in New Zealand, the US and Ireland, and is the largest Mexican restaurant franchise in both Australia and Ireland.

“We're very excited to launch our franchise recruitment programme in the UK,” said Zambrero CEO Emily Teh. “We've had a lot of interest in the brand during the last couple of years – and now is the right time for us to expand through our franchise partners.

“We've had great success through multi-site ownership in other markets, including Australia and Ireland, with more than half of our franchise partners wanting to go again and open more restaurants. We love this energy and enthusiadm for the brand and hope to find like-minded franchise partners here in the UK.”
